BlackBerry has finally gone cross-platform, finally giving Android and iOS access to its once exclusive service that was used as a selling point to market BB phones.
They plan to introduce the service with the basics (messaging and groups), but will eventually deliver the real deal as they further develop the respective apps to support other features like voice, channels, and screen share.
BlackBerry is very confident that even though they will be giving away exclusivity, it will still stand as a very reliable messaging service compared to others like Whatsapp, Viber, GChat, Facebook Chat and so on.
BBM will be supported on Android Phones running Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.x) and above, and iOS 6 and above.
Are their efforts too little, too late? Or are they finally catching on just on the last minute for saviour of the brand?
