The evad3rs have released evasi0n, a new jailbreaking tool for devices running iOS 6.x, including the iPhone 5.

After 5 months of waiting, the new but high profiled jailbreaking team has finally release ‘evasi0n’ for iOS 6.x (6.0 and 6.1) which allows for untethered jailbreaks on iOS devices. This simply means that once it’s installed, you don’t need to plug your device into your computer every time you restart it.

The download is available for Windows, Mac, or Linux on their website along with detailed instructions with regards to the installation process.

If you haven’t jailbroken your iOS device before, mods like this allow you to extensively customize the user interface, tweak performance settings, and install non-Apple Store approved apps. Jailbreaking does void your warranty though, so consider the pros and cons if this is your first time doing it.
