If you don’t know who Justine Sacco is, then don’t feel bad. Most of us didn’t until she posted a rather rude remark on her Twitter account which happened to become a worldwide trend.

After posting the above tweet, the Corporate Communications manager at IAC/InterActiveCorp is now under heavy criticism, starting a top ranking worldwide trending hashtag #HasJustineLandedYet on Twitter. IAC is home to over 50 major Internet brands such as The Daily Beast,,, OkCupid,, Vimeo,, among others.

The Internet world patiently awaited her arrival into South Africa after she posted the above tweet, inspiring some pretty funny and hateful comments. What’s even more hilarious/cool is that people actually donated more money towards various AIDS foundations as a result of her tweet.

IAC was quick to catch on to the trend and issued the following statement:

“This is an outrageous, offensive comment that does not reflect the views and values of IAC. Unfortunately, the employee in question is unreachable on an international flight, but this is a very serious matter and we are taking appropriate action.”

Sacco has since deactivated her Twitter account and may have to be taking the next flight back to London because it looks like her career is about to be cut short very soon.

The life lesson here? Be careful what you say on the Internet. It really doesn’t matter if you’re in a high or low position these days because you essentially lose control of anything you post online. We doubt Sacco may have any luck getting a job any time soon after this given her long string of rather insulting tweets such as:

“I don’t understand why this ugly chick from England has become such an inspiration.”

“I can’t be fired for things I say while intoxicated right?”

““Weird German Dude: You’re in first class. It’s 2014. Get some deodorant.” -Inner monologue as I inhale BO. Thank god for pharmaceuticals.”

“As I sit and eat a bagel with lox, i would like to send love to my jews who are all starving themselves right now. #hungryhungryhebrews”

Here are some of the funniest reactions to her tweet.
