This is Ken and Charrolette. Unfortunately for them, they’ve been homeless for the past 14 years of their marriage. While they have their very basic needs being met thanks to various shelters in the Seattle area, they were never able to enjoy a proper anniversary dinner together because they simply couldn’t afford to.

Need2throw, a redditor, and his girlfriend initially met this couple while doing charity work at a Seattle tent city, and forked up some money to create one of the most memorable evenings for this couple.

First, they bought a new suit for Ken and a dress for Charrolette. Hair and make up was done by Need2throw’s girlfriend.

After that, they were taken to the Sorrento Hotel in downtown Seattle with a few hundred dollars on their tab for wine and food (along with the room). When the front desk attendants heard about the story, they upgraded the couple to a beautiful suite free of charge.

After that, they headed to the The Grill From Ipanema Brazilian Steakhouse where they were treated to a giant buffet, and the staff were also very kind of let them load up on as much food as they liked.

They took a few photos while exploring the city, and said moments like these are rare for them since they financially can’t afford to get around town and sight see even though they live there.

Finally, they took a ride on the Seattle Great Wheel before heading back to their hotel room.

It looks like all the hard work paid off because according to the guy who arranged all this, “the smile on their face the whole night can’t be explained with words.” This really is a great story because now the couple have a memory to last them a life time.
